A single storey extension to rear of the house, the extension is split level as garden level was 1 metre below floor level of existing house. Fanlights along side of split level roofs are used to allow light back into existing house and a large sliding door brings you from extension to garden. The entire rear and half the side of the ground floor were removed to create the area for the kitchen, dining and utility area which looks down on living area of extension. A large steel structure was used to support existing house and the split level roofs of the extension.
